Preschool Program at Young at Heart Center
By incorporating the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children in everyday interactions and supporting positive communications, Young at Heart Center creates a preschool that encourages an enthusiasm for learning, exploring, and creating in a semi-structured environment. Our preschool’s goal is for all young children to explore and expand upon their individual capabilities, as well as continue to grow by using the educational foundation we provide in order to enjoy a lifetime of successful learning.
Our curriculum focuses on learning through play. Art, music, sensory motor equipment, gross/fine motor skills, language arts, puzzles/games, intergenerational programming, small groups, outside time, dramatic play, science, cooking, and many other activities are offered. Adapting the programs to meet the individual needs of each age group and developmental stages allows children the opportunity to use play and discovery in meeting their learning potential. Throughout the center, our management and staff always strive to provide a caring and safe learning atmosphere. Social/emotional skills and self-help skills are critical components we continue to encourage. Manners, role play, problem solving, verbal communication skills, organization, and following simple two to three-step directions can help your child be more prepared for grade school.
